Caren Magill is a blogger and communications strategist with expertise in social change marketing.  As a Senior Communications Advisor for a Fortune 500 energy services company, she develops behavior based messaging platforms that drive corporate and individual user energy conservation efforts. With an expertise in creating social change campaigns, she is passionate about mapping prosocial behaviors that support environmental conservation and sustainable living.

Prior to her work in energy conservation, Caren was drawn to the entrepreneurial path after a 12-year career in corporate and strategic marketing with JDSU (JDS Uniphase), The TMX Group (Toronto Stock Exchange) and several venture-backed start-ups. While building a small business she embarked on a graduate degree in Media Psychology and Social Change, to advance her interests in social innovation, prosocial influence and cause-based campaign strategy.  After a successful exit from her company in 2010 and completing her MA in 2011, she focused on developing thought leadership in the areas of prosocial communication strategy, behavior modification campaign development and cause-based marketing and promotion.

Preceding her Master’s degree, Caren graduated from York University in Toronto, Canada with a BA in Psychology. She is profoundly dedicated to causes that support and advocate animal welfare, environmental protection and social innovation addressing sustainable and healthy food. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two rescue dogs, coco and snickers.
